I've got the POWER!

Thanks to IKE, we had a windstorm here on the 14th of September that knocked out our power for 50 hours! It took so long to repair because the electric company sent our workers to Texas to help with the outages from IKE! It was miserable. We lost all the food in our fridge and freezer, Melanie was out of school for 2 days and we spent lots of time looking for a battery operated radio with TV. Finally, at Radio Shack, which should be your first stop in this situation, the salesgirl said that they don't make those little TVs anymore because of the new all digital TV rule beginning in February 2009! What a waste of time and gas that search was. We ended up buying a little AM/FM crank radio instead. We ate too much fast food and got bored a lot. At least we had hot and cold running water, others in our area are on wells and did not.
